Rochelle Marrett

Rochelle Marrett is an award-winning fiction writer and essayist from St. Catherine, Jamaica.

Her work has been published by Michigan Quarterly Review, Detroit Metro Times, Three Fold Press, and others. She has been awarded fellowships and residencies from MacDowell, Yaddo, Tin House, Baldwin For The Arts, and Room Project. She is a 2021 PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow and a Kresge Foundation Gilda Awardee. One Story recently named her as one of five finalists for their Adina Talve-Goodman Fellowship. Her work has been short-listed for the 2022 DISQUIET Fiction Prize and the inaugural Jesmyn Ward Prize.

Rochelle holds an honors degree in English from The College of Wooster in Ohio. She resides with her family in Metro Detroit and is working on her first novel.
